What Makes Us Different…

Comfortable Atmosphere, Friendly Staff, Superior Dental Care!

We are happy to serve all your dental care needs. LeNeave Dental offers a wide range of services for your entire family including, but not limited to the following:

Dr. LeNeave is a master artist of cosmetic bonding. Bonding is the application of a tooth -colored composite resin (plastic) to repair a decayed, chipped, fractured or discolored tooth.  Bonding can usually be done in one visit. The composite resin used in bonding can be shaped and polished to match the surrounding teeth. Most often, bonding is used for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance of a discolored or chipped tooth. It also can be used to close spaces between teeth, to straighten crooked teeth, to make teeth look longer or to change the shape or color of teeth.

This is a fixed prosthetic device used to replace one or more missing teeth.  They span the space where teeth are missing.  Bridges are cemented to natural teeth or implants surrounding the empty space.  Porcelain bridges can be matched to the color of your teeth. This procedure will take multiple visits so preparation can be done and an impression taken to provide the lab with an exact mold.  This gets sent out to the local lab and then the patient returns for the new Bridge to be cemented in.  Occasionally there may be additional visits to make sure everything fits properly.

Clear Orthodontics

Dr. LeNeave works with ClearCorrect, a company that will make a series of customized aligners to apply pressure to the teeth that need to move.  He will check your progress and give you new sets of aligners every 4-6 weeks depending on your treatment plan. Xrays, impressions and photos will need to be taken prior to treatment to submit your prescription the lab. Clear Orthodontics has many benefits over traditional braces.  These clear aligners show off your smile, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.  It’s also easy to remove these aligners when taking close-up photos or attending special events.  There are no wires to get in the way when you brush or floss.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Have you often wished you had a more attractive smile? Do you avoid smiling because of stains, chips, gaps, or other imperfections in your smile? Cosmetic dentistry services provided at LeNeave Dental can change all of that. We offer advanced cosmetic dentistry procedures, including porcelain crowns, veneers, composite bonding, and complete smile makeovers. You won’t believe how simple achieving a gorgeous, new smile can be!

Most Emergencies Seen Same Day

Dental emergencies can happen to anyone, anywhere and at any time. There is never a convenient time for a dental emergency, but they should never be ignored. If you are currently experiencing a dental emergency in the Louisville area, call LeNeave Dental right now at 502-499-9999. If it is after business hours, a telephone prompt will provide an emergency number to contact Dr. LeNeave. Not receiving timely treatment for a dental emergency can lead to expanded pain and discomfort caused by nerve, bone, or tissue damage.

Each dental emergency is different and will require a unique form of treatment. Only an experienced dental professional, such as Dr. LeNeave, can accurately assess the damage and determine what treatment is appropriate. While some dental emergencies can be resolved with a simple filling, others will require a more extensive procedure, such as a root canal or tooth extraction.

Some of the most common dental emergencies include:

  • A knocked-out tooth
  • A chipped or broken tooth
  • A dislodged tooth
  • Lost crown or filling
  • Injury to the soft tissue in your mouth

If you are experiencing any of the above injuries, please call 502-499-9999. Our professional staff has the knowledge and experience to give you the care and treatment you need.

Select Oral Surgery Services

Dr. LeNeave can perform a number of surgical procedures in his office. Although at times it is necessry to refer our patients to an Oral or Maxillofacial surgeon for more complex procedures. Dr. LeNeave can execute simple extractions in his office. He also performs bone grafting and reconstruction when necessary for implant placement and, when necessary or desired, modify gum tissue around the implants to produce a more natural and attractive appearance.

Crowns and Veneers

Porcelain Crowns and Veneers can be matched to the color of your teeth. This procedure will take multiple visits so preparation can be done and an impression taken to provide the lab with an exact mold for proper fit.  This gets sent out to a local lab for manufacturing and then the patient returns for Crown or Veneers to be cemented in.  Occasionally there may be additional visits to make sure everything fits properly.

Custom Night/Sports Guards

These mouth guards are individually designed and made in office or in the lab depending on Dr. LeNeave’s determination of your needs. Night guards are helpful to prevent wear and tear on your teeth if you grind your teeth in your sleep.  Sports mouth guards should be used by anyone, children and adults, who play contact sports such as football, boxing, soccer, ice hockey, basketball, lacrosse and field hockey.

Deep Ultrasonic Cleanings

Dr. LeNeave performs ultrasonic dental cleaning when needed.  Dr. LeNeave uses an instrument called an ultrasonic scaler, or Cavitron®. The Cavitron distributes ultrasonic vibrations to literally blast dental tartar, or dental calculus, off of your teeth! As the ultrasonic scaler vibrates, it produces sound waves to break apart stubborn calculus. Water flows out of the tip’s end to wash away debris and keep the scaler from overheating. Although you won’t feel the vibrations or hear the sound waves, you’ll most likely notice that your teeth feel cleaner. And our office will have significantly reduced the amount of dental plaque bacteria that causes most dental diseases. The procedure is often effective in limiting the progression of the early stages of gum disease.

Dental Restoration

A dental restoration or dental filling is a dental restorative material used to restore the function and integrity of the tooth structure. The structural loss typically results from cavities or external trauma. Dr. LeNeave utilizes a composite material matched in color to your existing tooth color to keep your smile looking natural.

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal Therapy is a three-step process.

First step is diagnosis.Periodontal disease is diagnosed by your dentist or dental hygienist during a periodontal examination. This type of exam should always be part of your regular dental check-up.

Second step is treatment.Periodontal treatment methods depend upon the type and severity of the disease. Your dentist and dental hygienist will evaluate for periodontal disease and recommend the appropriate treatment.

The third step is maintenance. It only takes twenty four hours for plaque that is not removed from your teeth to turn into calculus (tartar)! Daily home cleaning helps control plaque and tartar formation, but those hard to reach areas will always need special attention.

Teeth Whitening

Whitening, or bleaching, is an easy, inexpensive way to lighten the color of the teeth without altering the teeth in any other way. By treating the teeth with strong solutions of hydrogen peroxide, the pores of the teeth are opened up and the internal yellowish color is oxidized, which results in a whiter tooth. This is most commonly done at home using custom-made trays and prescription whitening gel. This can also be performed by the LeNeave Dental staff to achieve more rapid results.

Endodontics/Root Canals

Root canal therapy is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected. Dr. LeNeave performs a root canal procedure when the nerve of the tooth becomes infected or the pulp becomes damaged. During a root canal procedure, Dr. LeNeave will remove the nerve and pulp, and clean and seal the inside of the tooth. Root canal procedures have the reputation of being painful. Actually, most people report that the procedure itself is no more painful than having a filling placed. The discomfort experienced in the period leading up to seeking dental care is truly painful, not the root canal procedure itself.  So, don’t hesitate to call for an appointment. Normally you will have to return for at least one more visits after root canal procedure is complete to fill the access to the root.  Dr, LeNeave will determine if antibiotics are needed and may prescribe them before or after the procedure.

Full and Partial Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. Two types of dentures are available — complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.
Dr. LeNeave provides two basic types of complete dentures. They can be either “conventional” or “immediate.” This procedure will take multiple visits. A removable partial denture usually consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored plastic base, which is sometimes connected by metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw.

Implant Surgery

Dr. LeNeave is a master in dental implant procedures. Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth. Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth and because they are designed to fuse with bone, they become permanent. Enjoy improved self-esteem and get you your smile back and help you feel better about yourself. Dr. LeNeave can develop a personalized treatment plan for you that may include implants if you are missing teeth.
Generally, a small post is placed into the bone socket and as the jawbone heals, it grows around the implanted metal post making a very secure anchor. After approximately 12- 16 weeks a small connector post called an abutment is attached to the post to hold the new tooth. Impressions will be made of your mouth and then a few weeks later the replacement tooth is attached to the abutment.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a small video camera that takes an X-ray of the outside of the gum or tooth. The intraoral camera resembles an oversized pen.  While simultaneously viewing a monitor, the dentist inserts the camera into a patient’s mouth and gently shifts it about so that images can be taken from a variety of angles.

It’s not difficult to understand why many patients have misgivings about dental diagnoses that aren’t accompanied by pain or any visual cues that the naked eye can see. Since the intraoral camera is used in tandem with a computer screen or television monitor, Dr. LeNeave  can easily show you, in real-time, if you have a fractured tooth or need gum disease treatment. In the case of the intraoral camera, a picture may be worth more than a thousand words!

In addition to being a great diagnostic tool, the intraoral camera is a fantastic educational aid. Instead of merely explaining to you what’s happening inside your mouth, Dr. LeNeave can actually show you.

Preventative and General Dentistry

At LeNeave Dental, we emphasize preventive dentistry to help maintain your mouth at an optimal level. We educate our patients as to what is affecting their dental health, and to teach them methods to keep cavities and gum problems under control.

Regular teeth cleaning by a dental professional is recommended to remove tartar that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult for a patient to reach on his/her own. Professional cleaning includes tooth scaling (removing mineralized deposits from and smoothing the root surfaces) and tooth polishing to remove stains and brighten teeth. More extensive cleanings are sometimes required for patients who have symptoms of gum inflammation (gingivitis) or gum disease (periodontitis).

TMJ or TMD Treatment

Temporomandibular joint disorder, also known as TMJ or TMD, is a common condition that affects millions of Americans. It is recognized as pain upon opening your mouth wide, pain while chewing, headaches, earaches and neck pain. In severe cases, the jaws may become locked open or shut, or the patient may experience migraine-like symptoms.

Treatment for TMJ/TMD can be as simple as adjusting how teeth fit together to correct improper alignment, or wearing an appliance (biteguard) at night to correct the bite and allow the muscles to relax. In more advanced cases, an all day bite change is required to allow the muscles to relax into their ideal positions. Dr. LeNeave has devised an innovative bite appliance that may be attached directly to the teeth, foregoing the need for a bulky, removable appliance.
